Cleopatra Entertainment has acquired the North American rights to LOVE IS THICKER THAN WATER, a modern Romeo and Juliet tale that follows the passionate yet heartbreaking relationship of Vida and Arthur. Directed by Ate De Jong and Emily Harris, the film stars Lydia Wilson (“Star Trek: Beyond” and “About Time”), Johnny Flynn (Netflix’s “Lovesick”), and Ellie Kendrick (“Game of Thrones”).
The film follows Vida and Arthur, whose love story is marked by their vastly different backgrounds. Sensitive and touching, sometimes quirky and tragic, and always uncompromisingly truthful, it’s a fresh look at how conflicting family ties challenge love. LOVE IS THICKER THAN WATER is also written and produced by co-director Ate De Jong.
The rights deal was brokered by Cleopatra Founder and CEO Brian Perera, Tim Yasui, VP/GM of Cleopatra Entertainment, and by Julian Richards and Kevin Long from Jinga Films for the Film makers.
LOVE IS THICKER THAN WATER will be released on VOD platforms on November 28th, 2017 and on DVD on December 12, 2017.
